FLAG Hoboken & Jersey City

When the world went into Quarantine in March 2020, Hoboken Residents quickly mobilized to create a local chapter of FLAG (Front Line Appreciation Group) in an effort to raise money to feed local front-line workers via local restaurants. The response was overwhelming and the group needed constant marketing materials and graphics to promote the cause and continue to raise funds.

During its 4 month stint, FLAG Hoboken & Jersey City raised over $250,000 and I created close to 500 graphics.

Take a logo haphazardly designed for expedited use and turn it into a branded marketing campaign. Marketing materials ranged from daily graphics to report on various deliveries as a way to promote local restaurants and the cause, to event collateral for two online auctions to infographics and digital flyers.

Graphics needed to be created quickly and efficiently so the design needed to be formulaic but effective.

Using the existing color palette of red and blue, I came up with a standard layout for daily delivery graphics that could be edited and versioned quickly.

As fundraisers and promotions evolved, I introduced new layouts and graphic devices all within the umbrella branding. Often the promotions included one or several other brands so layouts and designs needed to be flexible.

Finally, we were usually communicating a lot of information at once so I relied on typography and graphic devices to punctuate and organize content to make it more digestible.
