Yknot Production
Yknot Production is a New York-based artisan production company specializing in feature length and documentary films. With over 40 years of experience in directing, producing and editing critically acclaimed and awarded films, they had a lot of content but needed a website to feature their work.
Yknot Production came to me with an extensive library of films, key art and a website they wanted to mimic. As is always the case when a client wants to reproduce a website they’ve seen, I had to walk a fine line between delivering what they wanted and not copying another site’s work.
Yknot had very specific requirements when it came to site organization and layout and in an effort to deliver what they wanted within the Squarespace capabilities, I built out two separate libraries for the home page and for the archive pages. I also researched and wrote code to provide the hover effect the clients were looking for on the homepage.
The result was a site that showcased Yknot Production’s extensive library in a format that was visually pleasing and easy to navigate.
